About Me

Hi!

I’m Rebecca Laegel, your editor.

I’m glad you’re here!

As a child growing up in New England, I discovered the magic of storytelling
through reading. This lifelong passion for language ultimately led me to become
an editor and copywriter, where I combine creativity with my honed technical
skills to help authors like you bring their stories to life.

I graduated magna cum laude from the University of Massachusetts with a
B.A. in English, and I’ve been writing in my personal life for over 20 years! I
dipped my toes into professional writing at the start of my career as a
freelance SEO ghost writer and later transitioned to technical writing.
Currently, I volunteer as a grant writer for a nonprofit. In my free time, I
dedicate myself to refining my editorial skills, writing my own novels, and
exploring the nuances of narratology—a subject I find endlessly fascinating.

Whether you’re an author with publishing aspirations or someone who simply
wants to polish their writing, I can help. I absolutely adore memoirs and books
of poetry. I have a strong background in memoir, literary writing, children’s
literature, adult fantasy, romance,
and science fiction manuscripts.

When I’m not immersed in the world of words, you can find me relaxing with my
two cats, Shiloh and Kylo. I also enjoy exploring new creative outlets and
volunteering my time for causes close to my heart, particularly those related
to climate change.
